Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of BetterhalfTV, including betterhalftv.com, app.betterhalftv.com, and our native applications (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. The Service
BetterhalfTV helps people keep a shared watchlist for movies, TV, and sports, discover titles, and coordinate what to watch. Features may change over time. We may add, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service without liability.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction (and at least 13).
- One account is intended for personal use; shared rooms are for partners you invite.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure.
- Attempt unauthorized access to other users’ accounts or data.
- Use the Service for unlawful, harassing, or fraudulent purposes.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse APIs, catalogs, or artwork beyond normal app use.
- Misrepresent the Service as affiliated with streaming platforms, studios, leagues, or rights holders.
4. Content and third-party data
Title metadata, images, ratings, availability hints, and sports schedules may come from third parties (including TMDB and sports data sources). That information can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. BetterhalfTV does not provide licensed streams and does not guarantee that a title is available on any platform.
Movie and TV data and images may be supplied in part by TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
5. Your content
You retain rights to notes and other content you enter. You grant us a limited license to host, sync, and display that content as needed to operate the Service (including sharing it with partners in your room). You are responsible for what you post in a shared room.
6. Notifications
Optional alerts depend on device permissions and system delivery. We do not guarantee timely delivery of every notification.
7. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk, or if we discontinue the Service. You may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or the accuracy of third-party catalogs, ratings, or availability.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BETTERHALFTV AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BetterhalfTV and its operators from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence require otherwise.
